PURPOSE
- Our purpose is to foster and promote the Hardee County Amateur Radio
Emergency Services (ARES) and its primary served clients: Hardee County
Emergency Management and the American Red Cross - Manatee Chapter
(which administers the ARC program in Hardee County). Since ARES
is a program of the ARRL - The National Association of Amateur Radio,
Hardee County ARES cannot own equipment or raise funds. HARG
however can own equipment and raise funds to support. HARG in
other words is a support organization for Hardee County ARES.
WHAT AND WHERE IS HARDEE COUNTY - Hardee County is a rural agricultural
community of approximately 27,000 people located in South Central
Florida, approximately 50 miles southeast of Tampa, FL. For more
information on Hardee County visit the Hardee County Chamber of
Commerce or the Hardee County Websites.
CLUB OFFICERS FOR 2008:
President - Darrell Davis KT4WX
Vice President - Charles Adler KI4SPG
Secretary/Treasurer - Roy Alderman KI4YIE
N4EMH Trustee - Darrell Davis KT4WX
HISTORY - In February 2007, the Hardee Amateur Radio was formally
reconstituted as a radio club after over two years of inactivity.
This was the culmination of several months work in the second
half of 2006. A new HARG Constitution by By-laws were signed and
officers were elected. We are a small radio club but looking to
grow.
SPECIAL THANKS - A special thank you
to Rich Shepard and Hardee County Emergency Management for allowing us
to use the Hardee County EOC for training, and space to operate the N4EMH
club station which also serves Emergency Management during emergencies.
